Perfume and Cosmetics - A Woman's Lifeline

While natural beauty is important, makeup has become one of the biggest necessities for most women in the world. This does not mean that a woman can not look good without putting on a whole lot of makeup. This just means that women feel a lot better with a drop of makeup at their disposal.

Cosmetics of all sorts can change your appearance almost magically. It's no wonder that you see women in the bathroom of the airport dabbing on makeup after a long flight. It has a way of changing your look, no matter how you feel. As tired as you may be, with a dab of makeup, you can change that look, followed by that feeling, in minutes. It has a way of making you feel more vibrant and awake.

When you wake up in the morning, with a long day ahead of you, there is nothing more refreshing than opening your cosmetic's bag and applying a soft layer of makeup and dabbing on a little perfume. It is a refreshing way to start your day. Be it for work, to shop, go out on the town, or just to feel that control; it is an excellent renewal and gives you a feeling of accomplishment. You can feel more prepared to conquer your different tasks and chores for the day. It is certainly something to consider for women who do not put on makeup and need that extra boost in the morning. It is almost as good as that cup of coffee!

Cosmetics also play an incredible role in special occasions. Arrive at any celebration of sorts a few hours early and you are certain to find the main women of the party, applying hefty layers of makeup, perfume, and all sorts of cosmetics at a frantic pace to prepare for the event. Take a wedding for example. One, of the main preparations for the bride for the big day, is finding the perfect makeup artist to do her makeup for the wedding. It is part of what makes her feel and look beautiful on her incredibly special day. All the women in her wedding party get involved in this preparation, and it brings a unique feeling that mixes with the joy of the day.

Even for women who do not regularly apply cosmetics and perfumes, they will almost always put on for a special occasion. Not just when they are the immediate members, but even just an attendee. When getting ready for a special occasion, dinner, or event, it changes the whole mood to apply a nice layer of cosmetics. This is something that women feel is a necessity in preparation. It is a feeling of completion.

Women do not always need makeup to make them beautiful. It enhances your natural beauty. It also gives you great mental health to feel so put together; and that adds an extra glow. Makeup can be used in wondrous ways and it is an extraordinary thing what it can do. Sometimes, all it takes is a light soft layer of cosmetics or perfume to make a woman feel like the world is hers for the taking!

Celebrities and Cosmetic Surgery to Consider

Celebrities and cosmetic surgery are on many people's minds today. Did they have work done? Who may have had a certain procedure? It is very difficult to tell most times. There may be many perfect examples of cosmetic surgery that no one knows about. With some celebrities, it may be obvious. However, most celebrities will not reveal that information. Here are some cosmetic surgeries and famous people involved.

Rhinoplasty surgery

Rhinoplasty is often called a nose job. When done properly, it can make a big difference in facial appearance. The results can be dramatic. It is also done for medical reasons. Improved breathing is a good example. Britney Spears recently had a rhinoplasty procedure. Her nose is a little smaller now. The shape of it has not changed. Public opinion is favorable on her decision.

Breast surgery

Breast Augmentation surgery is commonly done today. When Pamela Anderson's breasts enlarged, she became a famous centerfold model. Most breast implants are not as dramatic today. The quality of the surgery makes it almost impossible to tell at times. People wonder how breasts enlarge. However, there may be no way to be certain that is was from cosmetic surgery. In a few cases, they are made smaller. Dolly Parton had this done for back problems.

Facial implant surgery

When you wish to enhance a particular facial feature, you can use implants. They are also used for medical purposes like reconstructive surgery. It can help someone's return to his or her previous lifestyle, after a terrible accident. Roseanne Barr's cheek implants are an example of good facial implant surgery. However, she remains one of the few that will admit to such procedures.

Eyelid surgery

Blepharoplasty may be done by itself. It may also be part of an entire face-lift. You may look years younger after an eyelid surgery. The upper or lower eyelids may be done. When you age, your eyelids get fatty deposits under them. The skin also loses flexibility. You may develop bags under your eyes. Your eyelids may droop. This can make you look tired as well as old. A good eye job can drastically improve your appearance. A good example is Jane Fonda.

Brow lift surgery

Your forehead skin can gradually move down your face. You may look very tired and weary. Forehead wrinkles are a sign of age. A brow lift will bring the skin back in place. The face will appear young and alert. Some people elect to have eyelid surgery with this procedure. You will not hear of many brow lift surgeries. One can only speculate, most times. Many people think that Debbie Harry's recent procedure was a success.

In closing

Celebrities and cosmetic surgery continually makes headlines. How do they continue to look young? Did they have it done? We may never know about most famous people. They reason may be simple. The good work is hard to tell. Few people want to admit to surgery. Unfortunately, the cosmetic surgery horror stories make news frequently. This casts a shadow on all the good work that is being done. A few celebrities like Jane Fonda and Britney Spears will admit to it.

Beauty and the Breast Issues - Looking Good Post-Cancer

Do you have breast issues? Has breast cancer nodded its ugly head toward you? As a two-time survivor, I'll share some of my musings on beauty and the breast.

Weight gain

Breast cancer patients often gain weight from treatment. This fact escaped me when I first underwent treatment with chemotherapy. One reason is chemo-induced fatigue, resulting in decreased activity. Another is steroids contained in pre-chemo medications.
To combat these effects, patients should eat a balanced diet of lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, and healthful fats in moderate amounts. In addition, cancer survivors should invest in exercise if at all possible. Once chemo was through, I hit the gym. One study reveals that 150 minutes of aerobic exercise five times a week lowered a patient's risk of dying from breast cancer. Any amount of exercise beats sitting around.

After the second round of chemotherapy, my hair seriously started to shed. I chose to shave my head so my hair wouldn't fall out in clumps. Then I headed to the local American Cancer Society (ACS) office, which provided a plethora of nice-looking complimentary wigs from which I could choose. They also supplied me with wig shampoo and styling advice. What a blessing to have these services available!
I asked my oncology nurses about taking a drug to grow my hair back more quickly. They weren't enthusiastic about any medical remedies. Since I had wigs and didn't desire to apply another topical treatment besides hair coloring, I scrapped the notion of a follicle-sprouting lotion.
Eventually my hair did grow back. After yearly treatment with Herceptin, however, it did not return as thick as before. Further, the daily pill Arimidex I take to reduce chances of recurrence causes hair thinning. To counter this, my hairdresser advised using Nioxin hair-thinning system, consisting of shampoo, conditioner, and treatment spray. After three months of use we noticed new hair sprouting. Mousses, volumizers, and thickening gels with wheat protein may also create the illusion of thicker manes.
Skin Products

Cancer treatment can cause skin to dry out. Our local dermatologist gives monthly free skin-care advice to patients undergoing chemo or radiation. At his sessions he not only talked about how and why cancer treatments affect the skin, hair, and nails, but also showed us how to use cosmetic products correctly. We learned that creams are better than lotions in moisturizing the skin. Best of all, he handed out free samples of skin products in generous quantities.

Another beauty symbol rife with breast issues involves fingernails. Chemo caused permanent ridges to form on mine, and Herceptin gave them the consistency of tissue paper until the drug left my system. "Sally Hansen Hard as Nails" nail polish helped to strengthen them. At my dermatologist's urging I also took biotin supplements to counteract nail brittleness as Herceptin coursed through my veins. I continue on biotin, as I believe it makes a difference. Before taking any supplements, however, patients should consult their oncologist.

The program "Look Good ... Feel Better" offered by the ACS is well worth the time invested. This free service is dedicated to educating cancer survivors about beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during treatments.  Cosmetologists taught us the best way to apply makeup. We also received hundreds of dollars of free cosmetics as a favor bag from this "party." My take-away message?  Blush and lipstick work color magic on faces pale from chemo.  And they take so little time to apply!
Reconstruction or Prosthesis

One of the largest breast issues is the decision whether to have reconstruction. For personal and medical reasons I opted against this procedure after my double mastectomy. To many women who undergo disfiguring surgery, however, reconstruction is an image-saver.
I discovered that my local ACS office offers a large assortment of free prostheses and mastectomy bras.  Governments may require insurance companies to cover purchases of this sort; the patient seeking faux breasts should investigate all possibilities so she can look and feel her best in public.

Since my cancer journey I have discovered jewelry of every style, color and shape.   Each piece helps brighten my day.  I found my post-chemo short hair looks cool with dangly earrings. But rings provide a challenge for me, a lymphedema patient. I have solved the dilemma by wearing my wedding band on my unaffected hand and buying rings with elastic bands so I can still dress up fingers on my swollen hand. We survivors are ever resourceful as we face each new trial.
I pray that these musings on breast issues will help you sort through truths you can use when dealing with the modern-day obsession with beauty. Like objects in a side-view mirror, beauty is closer than you think.

Men and Cosmetic Surgery

Historically men are seen to be masculine and strong. So the idea of men having cosmetic surgery doesn't fit comfortably with societies ideas of masculinity. However men are becoming increasingly used to the idea of having a procedure in order to improve their looks.

The visual idea of a man has always been represented with images of masculinity displaying strength ruggedness and a sense of security. Conventional beauty routines have always been seen as the domain of women which is why surgery is closely linked with female consumerism. However in modern society men are increasingly becoming the target audience for beauty products ranging from moisturisers to products to hide wrinkles.

There has also been a rise in beauty facilities specialised for men such as Truefitt & Hill in London. Truefitt & Hill specialises in 'grooming me for greatness' and many more salons of this nature are emerging. Men are now seen as strong consumers of the beauty industry and this has had a clear effect on men and the industry. Advertising has also had an impact on men and beauty. Many male celebrities such as David Beckham, Sean Combs and Matthew McConaughey have been used to promote male beauty products and have encouraged the image of a man who looks after his physical self. It has become important for men to look good not just through their clothes but also through their skin, hair, smell and body shape. This has had an influence in the growth of the male market.

Cosmetic surgery has always been seen as a way for women to enhance their bodies. The popular image has been for women to have their breasts enlarged, stomachs made smaller and lips inflated. However as the image of beauty enhancing services has changed so has the audience that it reaches. Now there are many different reasons that individuals choose to have procedures and it is no longer just aligned to women. The cosmetic market is committed to understanding men's wants and needs and how they can best be met.

The world of beauty for men is vast and making money. There are a variety of procedures available to men such as rhinoplasty (nose surgery), abdominal surgery and penis enlargement. According to The Harley Medical Group website the most popular procedures for men are nose reshaping, male chest reduction, liposuction, face and neck lift and ear reshaping.

There is still an uncomfortable feeling around men and beauty enhancing services and it is not something that many men feel they can speak freely about. However ideas are changing and it is becoming more acceptable for men to be honest about wanting to look good and not being ashamed of having a procedure to aid the process. Many celebrity men such as Micky Rourke, Bruce Jenner and David Gest have had visible surgery. Obviously just like female cosmetic surgery there have been examples of very bad male surgery such as Michael Jackson. As more men in the public eye are seen to openly have cosmetic surgery it could influence how many men in the future discuss their decisions regarding cosmetic surgery.

Overall it is clear that there has been a change in attitude surrounding men and cosmetic surgery. Although men are still closely linked with masculinity are also closely linked to beauty and presentation. As the relationship between men and appearance strengthens so does the acceptability of men having beauty enhancing services.

In the future there may be a situation where men are equal consumers of beauty products and they will be able to be freely open up about their cosmetic surgery choices.

Secret of Getting Beautiful Lips

In today's modern world every woman wants her facial beauty. Various types of beauty products and makeup range are available in the market for them. The cosmetic companies are in the cut throat competition amongst everyone in the market. One of the essential features of the face is the lips. Now days every woman wants softer, smoother and sexy lips. The basic problem that many women face is related with the volume of the lips. To improve the volume of the lips they have to go for the painful cosmetic surgeries. But the better and alternate option of the painful surgery is called Transformulas Lip Volume - Original.

Transformulas Lip Volume - Original is a clear gel which increases the volume of the lip simply by applying it regularly. It defines and outlines the lips as well as maintains the moist and natural look of the lips. This clear gel can be applied 3-4 times in a day and regular application of 30 days gives the desired results. This gel increases the size of the lips by activating the tissues or cells of the lips naturally.

This product helps in assessing the soft, moist, defined and gorgeous lips with no wrinkles over it. This gel comes in different shades and it is non sticky to the lips. It comes in two flavors, one is clear peppermint and the second is chocolate flavor. The application of lip volume gel gives the cool and refreshing sensation to the lips. It is not painful like cosmetic surgeries.

It comes in the small pack with the applicator in it which will last for the month only. The usage of lip volume is much cheaper than the cosmetic surgeries and injections. Due to its small size it can be easily carried in your purse regularly. This gel keeps the lip well hydrated for the whole day. It helps in improving the health of the tissues and makes them look younger which in turn increase the size. This lip volume gel is more useful for the older ladies whose cells have become lifeless and shrink due to the age factor.

So in the conclusion we can say Transformulas Lip Volume - Original provides the fuller, beautiful and seductive lips to the woman without bearing the painful injections and surgeries. And it is better to opt for lip volume gels as they are cheap and easy to use.

Beauty Home Remedies - Natural Homemade Recipes to Look Beautiful and Younger

Most women do everything in their power to look as good as possible. Everybody knows that beauty goes hand in hand with health. Nevertheless, ladies spend incredible amounts of money on beauty products that sometimes don't even have the expected results. Keeping yourself beautiful and healthy is not at all complicated as long as you know how to take advantage of beauty home remedies. Natural products or ingredients that you can find in your own kitchen can prove more efficient than expensive cosmetic products. All you have to is to pick the right ingredients for what you need and to be perseverant. It might be a little bit more complicated to prepare natural beauty remedies than to buy them from a store, but it is sure worth the time and the effort.

Beauty home remedies are at hand whether you are interested in skin care or hair care. If you have dry hair for example, massages with mayonnaise or olive oil are the perfect solution for you. If, on the other hand you have oily hair, try a paste made of boiled carrots and your problem will be history.

When it comes to skin care, the variety of beauty home remedies available is even larger. However, in order for your choice to be effective, you need to determine your skin type. Natural beauty remedies differ depending on how your skin is. Almond oil or a mash made of bananas is excellent for dry skin, but they can only worsen the condition of an oily skin. As I said, beauty home remedies are just a few steps away, into your kitchen. Ground coffee can easily be used instead of expensive scrubs because it does a great job in exfoliating your skin. The kitchen can also provide solutions if you have acne. Garlic is great when cooking and it's even greater when applied on the skin areas affected by acne. Your nails and your teeth can also benefit of natural beauty remedies. Make your own toothpaste from lemon juice and salt or from apple cider vinegar and baking soda. Everyone will the envy your beautiful smile. A true lady also has an impeccable manicure at all times. Olive oil nourishes your hands and nails and makes them look perfect.

Whatever your problem is, there is always a natural solution at your disposal. Whether you are trying to get rid of wrinkles, to avoid hair loss, to reduce cellulite or just to have a natural approach towards your body, beauty home remedies are going to help you.
