How to Get a Deal on Your Favorite Cosmetic Brands

Women and men spend millions of dollars on some form of make-up each year. Many times the consumer does not take the time to really do comparison-shopping in order to save money. Just in recent years has the Internet been utilized when it comes to the purchase of cosmetics online. The local drugstore or department store has been the place of choice for buying beauty enhancers. In today's economy, there is a need to be frugal but not at the expense of having to question the quality of the merchandise.

Major make-up companies will launch online new product campaigns from time to time. It may be possible to take advantage of a two for one deal. Making a list of all the companies that sell make-up might be the place to start. Once the list is compiled, look up each brand online to find the best deal for cosmetics that are normally used. Sign up to be added to the mailing list when sales or free products are being offered.

Some beauty companies will offer free trials of the newest product that will hit the market. Request to be notified when these trials take place. It may be requested that a review be written detailing the pros and cons of the product. Most will be surprised at the amount of new products corporations are just waiting for individuals to test regarding make-up. Along with getting free products, a small payment for the participation may also be available.

For those that have extensive experience in the field of the application of cosmetics, it may be possible to get corporations to send free products for promotional purposes. All it may take is a written letter to explain the expertise and the desire to promote a certain beauty aid. When doing the research online, most sites have an area that gives the user the opportunity to ask questions. Take advantage of this and see what new products can be sent as samples.

Becoming a Representative for certain companies will open the door for free regular sized products along with the trial size. Check the Internet to see what make-up companies are looking for representatives. There is normally some type of kit that has to be purchased that contains samples. The price that is paid for the kit is small in comparison to the amount of products that are included. Many kits come with more than one sample of the same type of product.

Wholesale retailers also may offer the best options for the best buys for cosmetics online. Purchasing in bulk from a wholesaler will save money in the long run. Some sellers will include free products to those that purchase from them on a regular basis. Always check the sales papers that come with the local newspapers for deals and bargains that can be accessed online also. Friends and family may have pertinent information that can help aid the search for the best deals on cosmetics. The local beauty shop may be a source for information too. Your research will pay off when searching for the bargain cosmetics some companies have to offer.

From Shampoo Girl To Super Stylist - The Straight Skinny On Beauty Careers!

From the beauty salon on the corner to gorgeous tropical beach photo shoots, there are countless career opportunities in this $44 billion per year industry. Just think of it, every movie set, magazine spread, commercial, and tv show employs professionals in the hair and make-up community. If you are considering a career in beauty, here's some straight answers on the pros and cons.

Stylist: To become a stylist, you can attend vocational schooling while still in high school and be ready to hit the ground running upon graduation! If you are considering a career change, take time to visit all the schools in your area, as some are promoted by product companies such as Paul Mitchell or Aveda. Many offer scholarships or grants, so be sure to check. Depending on your state, schooling is approximately 1500 hours, with a state board exam upon completion.

PROs: Even as a student, you are able to purchase professional products at cost! You'll have an easy time building a clientele since everyone you know requires hair service.

CONs: Even though you have earned your license when you pass your exam, many salons these days require you to apprentice, so be patient, the salon experience is worth it! A starting stylist works nights and weekends to be available for walk-ins and stylist overflow - this is your chance to do blow-outs for veteran stylists and get to know the salon clientele.

Educator: This is an in-depth opportunity to learn the technology, chemistry & marketing of a specific product brand, such as Matrix, Tigi, etc. A license is required for these positions, and it is helpful to work in a salon that uses the brand. As an educator, you attend company sponsored training so that you can train other salons on the proper usage and seasonal trends offered by the line.

PROs: You will learn everything you ever wanted to know about not only the line you work for but all its competitors. If you love to travel, educators are needed at trade & fashion shows. With enough experience, you'll be onstage demonstrating your expertise in front of large audiences. Translation ~ famous!

CONs: This is a physically demanding position. Lugging around all your supplies and jet-setting between shows is exhausting!

Make-up Artist: Oh the possibilities are endless! One of the easiest ways to get your foot in the door is to apply for a position in cosmetics at a department store. These positions do not require a beauty license, and the store will coordinate your training with the company you represent. From here, you can free-lance weddings or photographers and build your own business.

PROs: You'll have a make-up arsenal to be envied by all! Creative freedom abounds, so you get to use your imagination.

CONs: For the best training, you will have to pay, but traveling to LA to take a class at Fred Segal is worth the investment! Unconventional hours (I've started bridal parties at 6:30 am) and unusual locations. I once did a photo shoot on a beach that was strewn with litter and a hypodermic needle.

Sales and Marketing: Not sure you want to do the hands-on? You can still learn comprehensive product information and reap the rewards of working for beauty giants. Most of these positions require degrees. As an outside sales rep, you will get to meet salon owners and department managers through out your territory and really see what goes on in the financial end of beauty.

PRO's: If you are an organized self-starter, you'll be out seeing clients instead of going to the same place every day. There is much room for advancement ~ you can become a regional-national sales rep, or manage a sales team. Large earnings potential!

CONs: This is a very competitive position and it takes time to develop a relationship with your clients. Facing rejection is tough on the self-esteem, so you'll need determination and confidance.

As an 18 year veteran of this exciting community, I have held all of these positions, finding each of them rewarding at various stages of my career. There's no shame in starting at the shampoo bowl, because with the right focus, you'll be the next go-to expert!

Skin Problems and Cosmetic Dermatologists

We have been born and brought up in a place where beauty, charisma and escapade sare the essence of life. 'A thing of beauty is a joy forever' is a quote which is true to its core. Entrepreneurial Creativity Is Still Rife in the Fashion Jewelry and Cosmetic World

It has been a busy spring with introductions of a slew of new products in international cosmetic and jewelry industry trade shows. There was the largest Beauty and Fragrance Industry expo, Cosmoprof in Bologna, Italy and immediately after Cosmoprof there is Basel World in Basel Switzerland, the premiere international couture watch and jewelry show in the world. This past week finished a new Fashion Jewelry product launch at Couture Las Vegas, the exclusive American trade show for luxury jewelry product.

These industry specific trade shows draw store buyers, distributors and vendors from every corner of the world. Cosmoprof offers products from the giants in the Cosmetic world such as Proctor & Gamble, Estee Lauder, Cosmair-L'Oreal and Shiseido. Basel World and Couture are utilized by internationally famous brands such as Harry Winston, Richemont, LVMH and Bulgari. All of the biggest players attend these expositions. And yet, the most interesting, exciting and well-shopped stands are often those representing small, entrepreneurial start-up businesses.

The entrepreneurs you will visit at beauty and jewelry trade shows are unique. They are among the most creative artisans you will find anywhere. Their display will be smaller than the multi-national brand powerhouses, and their marketing minuscule. But their passion, intensity and ability to find a path to success against long odds and heavy competition is often inspirational.

The Couture Las Vegas Jewelry trade show is an ode to luxurious human adornment. There are no Costume Jewelry or mass market products on display. Show management vet's every product entry and allows only the most beautiful, unique and exclusive lines to be offered. Attendance is strictly controlled and buyers are invited, there are no walk-ins. Nevertheless, there were dozens of small artisan jewelry producers, all offering a range of product created from a novel medium that they had discovered, executed and perfected. The result is innovative jewelry lines that are able to find a niche in the congested world of Couture, High Fashion Jewelry.

The story is the same at Cosmoprof Bologna. There are over 3000 vendors selling every imaginable type of Beauty Product. Aromatherapy, Cosmetic Implements, Cosmetic Applicators and Accessories, Skin Care, Bath and Body Care, Fragrance, Hair Care, Hand and Nail Care, Baby Care, Men's Treatment, and Color Cosmetics of every type, description and price point from all over the world are on offer to buyers and international distributors from 120 countries. Still, once again, the small producers enjoyed a terrific opportunity to differentiate themselves from their mega-competitors. Their booths were busy and interest levels in the newest products and concepts was at an all-time high.

Cosmetics and Jewelry are industries where we see incredible entrepreneurial activity. The barriers to entry are not as difficult to hurdle as in many categories that require large technology and financial commitments. If you are creative, driven and have a passion to compete there has never been a better time than the present to be a fashion entrepreneur. Nimble innovators are always in demand.

The Selfing Process Series - Grooming and Cosmetics - Step 4 of 5

Beholding a well-groomed individual is quite pleasing to my spirit. My eyes begin to twinkle and sparkle and my lips curl upward, leaving me with a little burst of positive energy. Do you know that the measure of a well-groomed woman starts with how good her skin looks? Also, how good her skin looks goes beyond its surface. It's true-how good your skin looks is an inner beauty being thing.

How are you being-on the inside? Having worked in the image, beauty and fashion industries all of my adult life, I've witnessed a lot of vanity...with me being right there in the middle. But, what's important and lasting is inner beauty being; which always begins with you loving, liking and respecting yourself first. The women who practice inner beauty being are IBBers-their beauty radiates from the inside out. They eat the proper foods; which are fueled by chemical substances called essential nutrients, such as: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, vitamins and water-these nutrients come from the proper and right food sources. So, eating right will help you to reproduce, build, and repair body tissue and to regenerate new skin cells-and we love that.

Water is the most important essential nutrient. It's an elixir within itself-the fountain of youth. Every cell in your body needs water for optimal health, including your skin cells. You could survive for weeks, perhaps even months, without food but you could only last about eight to ten days without water.

Water circulates through your blood transporting oxygen and nutrients to your cells. It helps to maintain the body's natural balance. It has no caloric value, though, and it is not a source of energy within itself. On the other hand, water promotes good digestion and it helps you to absorb the right nutrients from the foods that you eat. It removes your body's waste through urine and sweat and it eliminates digestive waste. It's so good for you!

Your body is made up of about sixty-five percent water and on most days you'll need to drink at least eight to ten cups of water to replenish what you've lost during the day. Water can be replenished also by drinking other decaffeinated and non-alcoholic liquids and by eating fresh fruits and vegetables. Getting your fair share of water will cleanse and flush out impurities that clog your pores and diminish your natural beauty. It will help to promote a more supple and youthful complexion. Next time you're dying of thirst, quench it with water.

IBBers believe in herbs and supplements and know that they are essential to their well-being and longevity. They participate in fun, natural and exhilarating activities that encourage them to breathe deeply, giving their body a good cardiovascular workout while rejuvenating their spirit. The breathing that comes from moving your body through fun physical activities is deep, simple, smooth, and strong. This type of breathing will help you to feel more youthful and energetic while at the same time helping you to relax and focus. It will build your heart muscle and clear the clutter from your mind and spirit.

IBBers laugh a lot too-for the fun of it and for the health benefits derived from a good belly laugh. According to Proverbs 17:22, "A joyful heart is the health of the body." Take the time to have fun and laugh. It is not a luxury, like so many of us believe, but just what the doctor ordered. If you're sick, it might make you well. If you're sad it might make you happy. Go on, girl, try it out loud... laugh!

IBBers also know the intrinsic value of friendships with other IBBers and living their lives full out, regardless of where they live, how much money they earn, married or single. They love being with other people and being alone. And most importantly, IBBers honor the essence of who they are through quiet time, inner reflection and meditation-a sure and proven way to rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. Daily meditation can help you get rid of toxins and clear the cobwebs that may have entered your essence, trying to block your natural flow. Meditation will encourage you to relax and to release, allowing you to hear the soft whispered words that are just for you. Consider this: the next time you're getting ready think about the selfing process and its grooming layer to see how you're doing with your inner health.

Okay, you now know that the foundation of grooming begins with good skin and a glowing complexion-which is a direct reflection of your inner health and well-being. You also know that paying attention to what goes into your mouth and what's inside your body is key. No amount of topical creams, ointments and serums can be effective when you're covering up for years of neglect.

Pros and Cons of Using Cosmetic Products

Beautifying the self is as important as keeping the body healthy. It is actually believed that how you dress and how you present yourself in the community is a reflection of your inner self. If you do not want others to think that you care less for your beauty, then better start practicing beautifying the self. You sure do not want to look like you were stunned by a tazor several times, a person who is weak and looks so beaten up.

We all are beautiful and handsome. No one is exempted from being called one. We all just need to know how to take care of this God given beauty. There are some who no longer need to apply beauty make-ups and other cosmetic products because they are already naturally glowing. The application of make-up only enhances what you already have and it is up to you if you will wear one everyday or not. Some prefer using light make-up to keep them from looking pale. Some use make-up for the purpose of hiding blemishes and pimples. Whatever their reason is, just as long as it makes them look good, then we should not stop them from doing so.

If you constantly wear make-up or use cosmetic products, you should be aware of its advantages and disadvantages. The things around us have their own advantages and disadvantages. You can learn great things as you continue to read on. Knowing the pros and cons might give you ideas on limiting and controlling the use of make-ups.

Talking about advantages first, make-up or cosmetic products like lipsticks, foundations, mascaras, concealers and a whole lot more enhances your appearance. It increases self esteem and boosts an individual's self confidence. It is an individual's choice as to whether he or she will use one just as long as he or she knows how to control it.

The disadvantages are much heavier compared to the advantages. As you can see, cosmetic products are made up of chemicals and these chemicals can bring danger to your body. Make-up when used constantly can damage facial skin. The effects may not show directly but as you age up, you will begin to notice that it has severely damaged your skin. It is a must that before you use one, you consult your dermatologist to see if the product suits your skin. Irritation can be a result after using a product that is not compatible to the contour of your skin. It is just like how a pepper spray gun can be very irritating when sprayed to the eyes.

Great Beauty Tips - Which Cosmetics Create the Perfect Finish?

When you are attending a circus and looking at a clown, the first thing that usually forces you to laugh is the clown's face, or in other words, the make-up. "In the factory we make COSMETICS; in the store we sell hope". - Charles Revson (Founder of Revlon)

Cosmetics manufacturers can only sell us good quality products and 'hope', according to Revson. It is the users' responsibility to use them in a recommended manner. If you don't use and apply good cosmetics, you might look worse than you look naturally - the effort of making yourself beautiful is only a dream.

Do you remember the college era when you or your colleague laughed on a girl who made herself a clown by not applying the make-up properly? It happened with most of the people and perhaps you might be the victim of it. Learn correct make-up techniques before someone laughs on you again.

When people laugh upon you, believe me, it is pretty hard to bear. You will likely to lose the self-confidence when people start passing comments and laughing on you for a thing which you did mistakenly - in fact, ignorantly!

Remember! Ignorance is no EXCUSE, especially in this age of information. Here we tell you some fabulous beauty tips which will help you in applying cosmetics properly and enhancing your self-confidence.

Mascara

The volume in mascara is used for in-depth look to your eyes. For maximize volume, always go for mascaras which are designed for the purpose. Ask the seller, if you have any doubts.

Nail Polish

Always apply clear base coast before applying colored polish. The rule of thumb is to apply nail varnish in three strokes; down the center and one down the both remaining sides.

Use dark shades for a delicate look and pale or light shades for short and thick hands. Short fingered women only apply polish to the center of the nail. Whether you have large or small nails, paint them completely.

Don't forget to keep cotton wool pads and nail polish remover with you as you might need them if you slip up. Remember that two thin coats can dry faster than one thick coat. Never apply top coat if the polish is wet - wait until it dries properly.

With regards to the toe polishing, use a stool to put your foot on it while polishing them - avoid polishing them in the standing position - sit comfortably. You can use cotton wool if you don't have toe separators.

Foundation

It is recommended that you should clear your makeup before going to sleep at night. It looks really over, if you apply foundation over an unwashed face in the next morning.
Remember that you must clear your face completely before applying a fresh foundation.

Whenever applying the foundation, make sure that you have turned on all the lights of the room - make the room as bright as possible. It is very hard to see the actual tone of a color in a dark or dim room.

Perfume

Choosing a fragrance is perhaps the most difficult task, at least for me. As all people or not same, their skin types are not same either - their skins may react differently to perfumes. Generally, floral scents are considered calming and refreshing - they suit best in summer.

Don't test over 4 perfumes at a time as it might bewilder your selection. Leave the tested perfumes for 3-5 minutes to settle. Never rely on smelling perfumes directly from bottles, always dab or spray onto your skin.

You may smell coffee beans after 3-4 tests - it helps you in refreshing your smell sense. Further, the best places for applying perfumes are: the inner writs, behind the ears, and lower neck.

Blusher

The blusher should match to the natural color of your cheeks. Always try to use the blusher of your skin color. In evenings, use dark colors - you can go with lighter colors in the day light.

Lips and Face Powder

To avoid bleeding and have a lasting effect, apply face powder on the lips.

Lip-liner

Always ensure that your lip-liner is almost of the same color/shade as your lipstick is. The pencil is properly sharp and moving smoothly. At all times, apply the lip-liner along the lips and before the lipstick. Start applying it from the center and move smoothly towards its edges - do this with the both lips. Never apply a lip-liner in haste as it could ruin all your make-up efforts.

Eyeliner

Before applying eyeliner, always warm the pencil on the back of your hand. When lining the upper lid, look upwards and apply it from below the lashes to make a fine line. You may apply it on lower lashes if your eyes are small.

Never make a thick black line around or across the lid - it is one of the most common mistakes which women do every day. In addition, don't apply eyeliner in a hurry.

In a sentence, we can say that if you follow these little but crucial tips, your appearance would certainly become more attractive and pleasant.

Choosing a Beauty Trolley

Ask a professional beauty worker what their most prized tool is in their job and the likely response would come back loud and clear: their beauty trolley. Now, you may be wondering, what is this wonderful sounding item and just why is so loved? The answer is that in the makeup and beauty industry, time really is money.

The key to why this type of beauty case is so loved is in the amount of styling products and accessories it can contain. It is not inconceivable for a beauty trolley to be able to hold all of a technician's tools in its case. It is made up of several pockets, handy compartments, and removable trays, with each having the possibility of holding a different type, color or shade of makeup. The ability of a trolley to organize these items effectively make it a no-brainer to own. Word of the advantages of beauty trolleys started to spread, so if you are looking to purchase a trolley for yourself there are several key factors to consider:

Getting a suitable size of beauty trolley should be one of the first considerations. Too large and you will be carrying around a lot of empty space, but if it's too small then you will have to change the trolleys contents depending on the client. This is not much better than using a regular cosmetic case, so why bother short-changing yourself?

Next, select the right kind of outer shell depending on how the case will be used - if you are only going to use it for light, personal work then a soft nylon or leather lining should be all that you need. On the other hand, selecting a hard-body case will give you more versatility when it comes to long distance travelling - an aluminum shell or plastic case should protect your case's contents while in enclosed luggage compartments or similar places. While the tougher protective cases are more expensive, the chances are that its contents are worth doubly so - or even more!

The last, but by no means least, factor to consider is the layout of the beauty trolley itself. The most popular models have many smaller drawers and compartments on the top, with deeper pockets at the base of the container. This will let you place all your commonly used items at the top where you can easily reach them, and the rarer items at the bottom - handily kept out of sight until that inevitable time when you need them.

Buying a beauty trolley or cosmetic case is simple really, but deciding what type matches your personal usage is a little bit trickier. If you want to make a good decision with long lasting benefits, consider all of the above facets first!

Selling Cosmetics And How To Be Successful

One of the most universal traits of us women is in caring for our beauty, not all, but in the majority of cases, we will do whatever it takes just to be beautiful in so many ways. Cosmetic products are considered anything that is used to enhance our face and body. Many women today are in the business of selling cosmetics to fellow women. There are hundreds of ways in which you can market your makeup, creams or other skin care and cosmetics to get it into the hands of potential customers. But it is always crucial to consider what products you are selling; your complete success depends on proper selection and adequate know how.

Research shows that most women have heard of Mary Kay, Avon and Virgin Vie cosmetic companies. Such companies allow women to operate their own home business selling cosmetics, skin care products, as well as ready to wear dresses and jewelry. These companies and many others, require their distributors to purchase a small starter pack, which will include a number of products, marketing catalogues or brochures, order forms and other items. You are then ready to go! Earn some money, earn customers, and earn more friends and most of all get the feel of being independent.

There are different ways to get the business rolling; you can give out catalogues/brochures, leave copies in various locations where women tend to frequent most of the time. Set up your website, or start a fan page in Facebook, you can post your products and set up an order form for them to fill out, or possible meet-ups. Or you can do some colour coaching sessions; give facials and advice on colours and cosmetic application. If you are confident and comfortable teaching others how to apply makeup properly, selling cosmetics becomes easy and so much more fun. Influencing and helping women to enhance their beauty, through selling cosmetics can become a rewarding and fulfilling business for you!

Whether you join an established cosmetics company or decide to venture out on your own, it is important to keep track of all of your expenses and return of investment in order to monitor progress. Selling cosmetics is a lovely way to be able to get in touch with your feminine side and of course the best part of all; you'll be earning money at the same time!

Are Preservatives Used In Beauty And Personal Care Products Safe?

Preservatives are not only used in food. They are also used in everything from shampoo to makeup to help make these products last for a longer period of time. All commercial bath, beauty, and personal care products use chemical preservatives.

While these chemicals work effectively to prolong the shelf-life of products and to prevent products from developing things like mildew, bacteria buildup, and mold, some are actually believed to have negative health side effects that can cause long-term trouble. Often, it is because of chemicals like these that many people decide to make the switch to organic beauty products.

Even though further study is needed to determine the full effects of the chemical ingredients in commercial products, many people do not wish to subject themselves to chemicals that could possibly be dangerous. Especially when they are contained in products that are used on the skin on a daily basis. When chemicals are absorbed by the skin they are taken into the blood stream and can affect vital organs.

Some common preservatives in commercial products include:

- DMDM Hydantoin
- Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
- Imidazolidinyl Urea

DMDM Hydantoin
This preservative works by releasing formaldehyde into products. The formaldehyde is preserves the products, but it is also well known for being an irritant. Formaldehyde releasing preservatives like DMDM Hydantoin are largely restricted in Europe and Asia, and are more commonly used in America. One major reason for their restriction is that formaldehyde is considered by the EPA to be a probable carcinogen.

Strangely, even though it is used in many skin care products it is known for causing skin irritations including dermatitis. Along with this, it is believed to be an immune system toxicant and an eye, ear, and lung irritant.

Imidazolidinyl Urea
This is also a formaldehyde releasing preservative. It actually works with parabens--chemicals that are also believed to have negative health benefits--to provide an antibiotic front against things like yeast, mold, and bacteria. But again, the formaldehyde it releases is a known irritant and probable carcinogen.

Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate
This ingredient is actually used often in skin care products labeled as being "gentle." Yet, in many cosmetic ingredient reviews this chemical preservative has been shown to be a toxicant and skin allergen. For example, it is known to be a skin irritant that can cause contact dermatitis in many of its users.

Next time you are buying beauty or personal care items, take a look at each products ingredients labels and try to avoid using products that contain ingredients that could be hazardous to your health.

Cosmetic Beauty, Finding the Best Beauty Products That Work For You

Shopping for beauty products these days can be overwhelming because of the huge variety of cosmetics available, all of which claim to be the best choice for you to purchase. There are many factors to consider when searching for your perfect cosmetic beauty supplies.

Are Natural Ingredients Important to You?

One thing often overlooked by cosmetic beauty shoppers is reading the ingredients before purchasing a product. Reading the ingredients provides much insight into what you can expect from that product. For example, lipsticks containing moisturizing butters such as cocoa butter or shea butter will be more moisturizing than your average lipstick, but may not wear as long as another product. Conversely, castor oil is an ingredient used in many cheap lower-end lipsticks, and lipstick containing castor oil as a main ingredient may have a cheap, low-quality feel regardless of its cost. Natural ingredients are not necessarily better, but many people prefer them because they are less irritating to skin. People often try to avoid parabens in their cosmetic beauty products.

Is Animal Testing Important to You?

Many cosmetic companies test products or ingredients on animals, which is inhumane and unnecessary and does not lead to safer products. This practice is banned in the European Union and by 2013 products tested on animals will not be legal to sell in the EU. On the other hand, the Chinese government requires that products are tested on animals prior to being sold in China. This creates market pressure for some brands to start testing on animals when they previously did not, in order to gain access to Chinese consumers. The brands that are cruelty-free change frequently, so if avoiding animal cruelty is important to you, consult lists of cruelty-free companies provided by organizations such as PETA and the Coalition of Consumer Information on Cosmetics, also known as Leaping Bunny.

Are High-End Products Better Than Lower-End Products?

People are often swayed by the cost of a cosmetic beauty product, assuming that expensive products will be better than inexpensive products. This is not always the case. Sometimes products cost more because they use higher quality ingredients, sometimes they cost more because of the money spent on advertising, and sometimes they cost more simply because it makes people believe the product is better and they are willing to pay the price. Again, reading the ingredients will provide a lot of information on whether or not a product is different from a less expensive version and whether it is worth the price.

Is Image Important To You?

Cosmetic beauty companies put a great deal of effort into cultivating an image for their brand, which is reflected in their product packaging and advertising. A brand may call itself edgy, girly, classic, quirky and so on in an effort to relate to the consumers on a personal level. While this does not provide information on the quality of the brand's products, there is no harm in developing attachments to specific brands based on their image, even if you just like the way their advertisements look or the designs and colors of their packaging.

Reading Customer Reviews Can Answer Many Questions

If you are not sure about trying a cosmetic beauty product, customer reviews can provide information to help you make up your mind. Reviews can include color swatches and normally provide an overall assessment of the quality of the product and the value of the purchase. Customers often describe how the product looks and feels as well as how it performs, and whether it lives up to the claims made by the brand. Use caution when choosing a source for customer reviews, because web sites that sell products may censor or remove negative reviews. Also, bloggers may include special links that give them a commission for anyone who purchases the product by clicking their link. This may or may not affect the recommendation or rating given by the blogger.

Making Product Returns

If a product does not work for you, you should be able to return it without criticism or hassle. Most cosmetic beauty retailers list their return policy on their web site. Even when a store has a "no questions asked" return policy, in-store employees are sometimes disrespectful to customers who are returning products. If an employee is not following their retailer's return policy or behaves rudely, you can ask for their name and speak to a manager or notify their company by phone, email or Facebook message. Include the employee's name and store location. Retailers are normally apologetic to customers who have been hassled while returning products, and will offer help returning your product and possibly a gift or discount.

Shopping for cosmetic beauty products does not need to be overwhelming. Follow these steps to narrow down your product search for a more enjoyable shopping experience.

Discount Cosmetics Products on a Tight Budget

If you have ever spent money on make-up you would know that shopping for discount cosmetics is the best way to cut back on some of the more expensive items that you get in the market. Even if you just plan to buy the essentials for a given month, it can still eat into your pocket and leave you close to broke. Toiletries and cosmetics are essential to your daily routine and if you go without them, then your skin could break out or become oily leaving your face looking all shiny. Your deodorant is an important part of your hygiene and skipping out could mean an odorous month for you and the people around you. So without having to cut back on certain items, you would need to shop for items that are offered at a lower price to keep within your budget.

The internet is the perfect place to shop for beauty products at a discounted rate. There are so many stores that have specials on discount cosmetics products that you really do not have to worry about your budget too much. You can go from cite to cite looking for affordable specials that offer you the items that you need to suite your budget. You may even get lucky enough to find deals where you can buy three items for the price of two, so you can stock up on eyeliner or mascara for the next couple months. Generic products are often just as good as the real thing and they are a lot cheaper too. Home made products are also a good place to look for cheaper prices because they are cost effective to make and the people selling them are often the people that make them. That way you get to buy directly from the manufacturer and avoid any middlemen and retail costs that are added on by the people that are selling on their behalf. You may be able to get descent pricing from the bigger retail outlets because they buy in bulk. If you are lucky enough to get a good price on an item on the spot, then you should buy it there and then to ensure that you save money. You might end with extra stuff sitting at home, but at least you will not have to worry about buying it for a while and you would have saved money in the process.

If you shop online you have a lot more choices to look at; since it is safe for you to make the payment, there is no reason not to buy there.

All Natural Beauty Products Are the Way to Go

If a product is made to be all natural it usually means that you are purchasing an item that hasn't been made by any artificial means. The ingredients of these products come from natural sources, use natural processes to make them and do not contain any harmful chemicals that are artificially created to try and improve their effects. Unfortunately, there is no telling what the true effects of a chemical would be and because it is not natural to your skin, hair or face, it could end up causing unnatural damage to your body. Even though many of these chemicals and miracle products are designed and manufactured with the best intention, you often end up with other problems that are a result of their use. Chemical moisturisers are effective in the short term because they provide your skin with the moisture it needs right away, but that moisture recedes and your skin goes dry again. It also prevents your skin from producing its own moisture. The cells no longer need to create their own moisture because they are receiving it from an external source.

If you switch to more natural methods you can still give your body what it needs in a natural way and your body will continue to function normally regardless of what beauty products you are using. Some people have even gone to the extent of using mashed up pulp and applying it to their skin to give it the nourishment it needs, and it is a common fact that cucumbers have a natural healing effect on the body. As a result many of the natural based products you see in the market actually contain these ingredients in order to use them as a selling point. You have to be careful of these products because they may even be synthetic compounds that are made to imitate the real thing and you don't always get the same benefits as the natural product. Many manufacturers use the word natural just to get your attention, when they really have nothing natural about their products at all. If you think about how your skin absorbs things from both the inside and outside, you have to realise that whatever you feed it will affect it in some way and as long as you can keep that as natural as possible you won't have to worry too much about it.

Stay focused on the natural products and make an effort to find out how they are produced to ensure that you always have healthy, lively looking skin.

Beauty Products, Cosmetics and Beauty Advisors

Do you love using beauty products? Are you interested in a career surrounding the use of these products but don't know what your options are? If so, than you have come to the right place. Over the last few decades the use of beauty products has become increasingly popular. Children, teenagers, women, and even men are using beauty products on a daily basis, raising the demand for beauty based jobs. Throughout this article we will discuss what beauty products are, what types of products are available, and what jobs are available if you are interested in pursuing a beauty based career.

Beauty products, also known as cosmetics, are substances that are used to enhance the appearance or smell of the human body and face. There are many types of beauty products, both for men and women, on the market today. Makeups, deodorants, skin care treatments, nail polishes, body lotions, and hair products are all cosmetics which you can find in almost any department store. Because there are so many types of beauty products, the creators have divided them into two categories; decorative cosmetics and care cosmetics. Decorative cosmetics are those, such as perfume and makeup, that are designed to make an individual look or smell better. Care cosmetics are those that increase healthiness and include things such as skin creams and body lotions.

Most cosmetics offer individuals many different options to choose from. Deodorants, for example, come in male and female lines and offer a whole variety of different smells. Makeups, one of the most commonly used cosmetics, come in even more varieties. For example, for your lips alone, you can choose from lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner, lip plumper, lip balm, lip condition, lip primer, and lip boosters. The list of varieties is just as long for foundations, powders, mascaras, and blushes. Many women, because there are so many makeup options, often consult or hire professional makeup artists to do their makeup for them or to teach them their makeup tricks. If a professional makeup artist sounds like something you may like to do than you may consider beginning as a beauty advisor.

Beauty advisors work in cosmetic stores servicing the customers. They may be asked to give advice on skin care and makeup requirements, explain new products, or even give their clients makeovers. Once you are comfortable working as beauty advisor, you may decide you want to become an actual makeup artist. Professional makeup artists can either be hired by a company or work in freelance, building their own client base. Another option working directly in the cosmetic field is to become a cosmetician. Cosmeticians are professionals who work with their clients, giving them both facial and bodily treatments. If you are interested in working with cosmetics but want nothing to do with applying them than you may consider looking into other cosmetic positions such as cosmetic marketing or product development.

Whichever avenue you chose, the choice to become involved in the area of cosmetics will not fail you. The cosmetic field is growing daily and the job prospect for those involved in cosmetics looks great. Whether you want to apply makeup, give treatments, or just work on the development of a cosmetic, your choice will surely provide positive results for your future!

Fallacies, Misconceptions And Myths Concerning Skin Care Products And Cosmetics

Caveat Emptor!

I will start by telling what's working and what's not and listing the ingredients you should look for and the one who are just filler or "label dressing". Label dressing is known in the industry as ingredients used in the product which will not arm and often have no proven benefits but got extensive publicity by their manufacturers. They add some perceived value to the products or just make it look and sound expensive by adding exotic names and almost always unnecessary raw materials in the final product. Their name on the label and on the product advertising material will incite the unaware customer to buy it.

A good example was in the 1960's some giant company came up with the Idea to use the waste material from the login industry (Small branch, twigs and leaves) and extract the chlorophyll out of it. So they built a big extracting plant on the Canada US border and started the extraction process. When they extracted millions of tons of Chlorophyll and did some researches they found out that Chlorophyll is very useful for plants to photosynthesize the sunlight but has no other redeemable values. But by that time hundred of million of Dollars where invested in the process that was to be recovered in one way or another. So they hired a marketing company and pretty soon every body was chewing gum with Chlorophyll wearing shoe sole with chlorophyll smoking cigarette with Chlorophyll and the list goes on. Very soon the stock pile of Chlorophyll was sold out, the extracting plant was reconverted and Chlorophyll disappeared fro our life just like magic.

That's marketing at is best! Do you know: Marketing for big cosmetic company can be as much as 90% of the final cost of the product? What are they trying to sell you? A famous saying in marketing is: sell the sizzle not the steak. The problem with this picture is that: the sizzle has no nutritional values.

The cosmetic industry has a long history of using waste material from other industries.

Now, about the raw materials you should stay away from:

Mink oil, is a by product of the mink farmers. After they removed the pelt the rest of the animals are wasted, but it contains a lot of fat. In order to maximize the revenues they must found a market for it. Again some good marketing made and the cosmetic industry was eager to use it.
Emu's oil is a byproduct of the Emus Farmers after removing the feathers and the skin. All the fancy animal fat can be replaced by Olive oil in my opinion by far the best emollient on the market. It contains Squalane previously extracted from Shark's liver. Please make sure when you buy your Skin Care product the Squalane comes from Olive oil and not from sharks. The fishing industry did a good job promoting Squalane from Sharks. Again uses the rest of the animal which is fished essentially for Japanese and Chinese fish fins soup.

Caviar that's a good one too! Do you know that broken Sturgeons eggs cannot be sold? So ... some good marketing and again the cosmetic industry is there to absorb it. One can argue that fish eggs contain vitamins, marine's lipids (another fancy name for fat). But again Algae extract and vegetable derived vitamins and Olive oil can easily replace it.

Caviar is expensive, so it must be good on your skin. In my opinion Caviar might have a place on toast if you like exotic, expensive, greasy, fishy, tasting stuff. It has no useful purpose on your skin. But it sure makes the product sound expensive if nothing else.

To sum all this up let me give you my opinion about a good Skin Care product: It must contain
Peptides, Olive oil or Squalane and some plant extract, but are careful not all plant extracts are the same! For example some vitamins B5 (Niacin amide) is a good one as is vitamin C and don't forget the fatty one.

Vitamin A, B, E, and F also contains in the oil, if virgin Olive oil is used. Also a good manufacturer whom stands up to their motto: No hype No fuss Quality first!

To ponder about botanical Extracts and other ingredient on your skin care products.

Few useful guidelines are: Do not buy product which contain animal by product. They usually are waste material from other industry!

Furs & leather industry their waste is: mink oil and Emus oil.

Fishing industry their waste is: Shark liver oil, Squalane and Caviar.

Squalane is good for your skin but it is also extracted from Olive oil, and that's good Squalane!
Also beware of "label dressing" some manufacturers will put an extensive list of ingredient on their labels but there is only so much room in the formula for those ingredients.

On your Skin Care label the first ingredient is almost always water. The water content of Cosmetics is between 40% and 90%. Most of the large manufacturers are averaging between 70% and 80% water. More active ingredients in the formula higher the risks of break down the formulator may encounter. Their motto is: keep it safe. Then you need some emulsifying products they can be a mixture of three, five or more different ingredient for a total of 10% to 15%, then some oil to finish the emulsion. Oil is used as emollient and account for 5% to 20% of the total formula.

Let say a product contain 70% of water (low average) 10% of emulsifier 1% of preservative this leave 19% for all other ingredients (high average) and 10% of oil and emollients. (Stay away from mineral oil and petrolatum) If they use 10% of oil and they list 10 different oils you know that 99% of those 10% is the cheapest one and the more expensive 9 others account for only 1% of those 10%. This goes for the botanical extract too!

Now all extracts are not the same. You can buy an extract from one supplier witch contain 10% of the active ingredient from the botanical and 90% water, for say $50.00 a pound or an extract which contain 100% of the active ingredients for $500.00. Which extract you think most manufacturer will use? Remember their motto "keep it safe" The most disconcerting part of it all is that: according to the INCI rules the low active ingredient extract will be in the same place than the high content one in the descending order of ingredients in the label, because the manufacturer as to prove how much of the extract he put in is formula but nothing about the potency of the extract.

We are observing a significant increase of gel products. Those products contain Carbomer or Polymer (same difference) as the thickening agent and allow the formulator to formulate product with 95% to 98% water. Now you understand why the manufacturing of skin care goes toward the direction of using gel as a safer product. Be reassured the next time you buy some eyes gel, gel and gels can be considered completely safe as they are mostly water!

After all to create and maintain personal beauty takes time, effort and preparation.
